Caves of Aggtelek Karst | Hungary

The Caves of Aggtelek Karst (together with Slovak Karst) is a UNESCO World Heritage site consisting of 712 caves spread out over a total area of 55,800 along the border of Hungary and Slovakia.

The Baradla Domica cave system is part of the Aggtelek Karst. The cave is known for its  for its stalactites (the ones that hang from the ceiling).

Honey Island | Brazil

Ilha do Mel, which means Honey Island, is located 5 km off the Brazilian coast. Hikers, surfers, bird watchers, stargazers and nature lovers alike are in awe of all that this little Atlantic island has to offer. No cars on the island!

The Cave of the Enchanted (La Gruta das Encantadas) is located in the south part of this island. This cave is a place of legends, where beautiful mermaids attract men to the cave and never return home...

Phong Nha-Kẻ Bang National Park | Vietnam

Phong Nha-Kẻ Bang is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam, about 500 km south of Hanoi. The park is noted for its 300 caves and grotto systems.

The Hang Tien, or Fairy Cave, is famed for its enormous size and spectacular formations.

Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park | Philippines

This park features a spectacular limestone karst landscape with an underground river. With 8.2-kilometer probably the longest navigable underground river in the world.
 
Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.

Stamps
The stamp on the right is to honor the Higantes Festival held in Angono on 22nd and 23rd of every November. Main feature of this festival are the parades of towering giants made of paper-mache, some as tall as fifteen feet. These giants are locally known as higantes.

Bochnia Salt Mine | Poland

The Bochnia Salt Mine is one of the oldest salt mines in the world and the oldest one in Poland. Operating continuously for 750 years until closure short after World War I.

St. Kinga’s Chapel is one of the largest and best preserved chapels in the mine. The chapel was established in 1747 and is located at a depth of 212 m.

Gunung Mulu National Park | Malaysia

Gunung Mulu National Park is located on the island of Borneo in the State of Sarawak in Malaysia. The park is dominated by Gunung Mulu (Mount Mulu), a 2,377 m-high sandstone pinnacle, hence the name of the park.

It is famous for its limestone karst formations. Features include enormous caves, vast cave networks, rock pinnacles, cliffs and gorges. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Po Win Taung Caves near Monywa, Myanmar (Burma)

Po Win Taung is a Buddhist cave complex located near the city of Monywa in Myanmar/Burma. The complex contains 947 small and large richly decorated caves. The caves are decorated with Buddhist statues and murals dating to the 17th and 18th centuries.

A stamp to honor the 27th SEA Games, hosted by Myanmar from 11 to 22 Dec 2013. SEA stands for South East Asian.

Afqa Falls , Lebanon

Afqa is located in the mountains of Lebanon, about 20 kilometres from the ancient city of Byblos.
The waterfall at Afqa is the source for the River Adonis, known today as Abraham River.

In Greek mythology, Adonis, the god of beauty and desire, was born and died at the foot of the falls in Afqa.

Rafic Hariri (1944 –  2005) was a business tycoon and the Prime Minister of Lebanon from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2000 until his resignation in October 2004. Hariri was assassinated on 14 February 2005.

Posta Slovenije issued a joint commemorative block with Austria entitled “Postojna cave, cave post office 1899. On 15 August 1899, 500 meters from the entrance to the cave, the first underground post office in the world was opened. 

The Salamander-like creature on the cancellation is an Olm. It lives in caves like Postojna Cave.

140 Years of Postojna Cave Railway

Postojna Cave is a 20km long karst cave system near Postojna, Slovenia. It is one of the major tourist attractions in Slovenia, welcoming half a million visitors each year. Visitors are taken for a tour by a special cave train launched on 16 June 1872, celebrating its 140 years anniversary in 2012.
