Harare, capital of Zimbabwe

Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe. With 2 million inhabitants it is also the most populous city in the country. The capital Harare was formerly called Salisbury from 1890 in honor of the British Prime Minister Lord Salisbury. It was renamed Harare on the second anniversary of Zimbabwean independence in 1982.

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in southern Africa. It is bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. Robert Mugabe is the 90-years-old! president of the country.

The card shows a painting by Craig Bone (1955), a “Rhodesian” artist.
