Lake System in the Great Rift Valley | Kenya

The Kenya Lake System in the Great Rift Valley comprises three inter-linked relatively shallow lakes and covers a total area of 32,034 hectares. Besides having one of the highest bird diversities in the world, it is the single most important foraging site for the lesser flamingo anywhere.

The Kenya Lake System in the Great Rift Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Fort Jesus, Mombasa | Kenya

Fort Jesus is a Portuguese fort built between 1593 and 1596 located on Mombasa Island to guard the Old Port of Mombasa. The fort is one of the most outstanding and well preserved examples of 16th-century Portuguese military fortifications. Fort Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2011.

Mombasa is the second-largest city in Kenya, with a population of about 1.3 million. The city is built on an island and connected to the mainland by two causeways.

Masai Mara National Reserve of Kenya

Masai Mara is known as one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, situated in southwest Kenya and is part of the northern section of the Serengeti National Park. The reserve is named in honor of the Masai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area.

It is globally famous for its abundance population of the big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs), and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration.
