Volpiano a small village in Italy

Volpiano is a municipality in the Province of Turin, in the Italian region Piedmont. The city is located about 15 km north-east of Turin.

It' s an industrial (fuel, transportation, electronics) and agricultural (wheat, corn) center in the lower Canavese.

Relics transportation of Euphrosyne of Polatsk, Belarus

100th anniversary of relics transportation of Euphrosyne of Polatsk (2010).

Euphrosyne of Polatsk (1110–1173) was the granddaughter of a prince of Polotsk, Vseslav. She refused all proposals of marriage and, without her parents' knowledge, ran away to the convent and became a nun.

Later she founded her own convent. She spent her time copying books, and the money she thus earned she distributed amongst the poor. She also built the church of The Holy Saviour. It is considered to be the most precious monument of early Belarusian architecture.

The Göltzsch Viaduct is a railway bridge in Germany. It is the largest brick-built bridge in the world, and for a time it was the tallest railway bridge in the world. Built between 1846 and 1851 as part of the railway between Saxony and Bavaria.

Historical view on Hungarian city of Esztergom

Esztergom is a city in northern Hungary, 46 km north-west of the capital Budapest. It lies in Komárom-Esztergom county, on the right bank of the river Danube, which forms the border with Slovakia there. Esztergom was the capital of Hungary from the 10th till the mid-13th century when King Béla IV of Hungary moved the royal seat to Buda.

Atlantic City, grandeur of the old days

(front) The Marlborough-Blenheim Hotel was a historic resort hotel property in Atlantic City, New Jersey, built in 1902-1906, demolished in 1979.

The history of the Dennis Hotel follows that of Atlantic City itself. It started out, like many A.C. hotels, as a group of wooden cottages on the beach, and very likely opened shortly after 1854, when the seaside resort was founded.

The Shelburne Hotel was a resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey located at Michigan Avenue and the Boardwalk. Built and opened in 1869.
