A postcard from Niger
Niger is a landlocked country in Western Africa bordered by Chad, Libya, Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin and Nigeria. Almost 80 percent of the country is covered by the Sahara desert.
The Ténéré, meaning "desert" in Tuareg language, is a region in the south central Sahara. It comprises a vast plain of sand, occupying an area of over 400,000 square kilometers.
