Montserrat is a British Overseas Territory located in the Caribbean. Soufrière Hills Volcano began to erupt in 1995, for the first time since the 17th century.The lava flows and ash falls forced two-thirds of the island's population to flee. Today the island has about 4,500 inhabitants.
